Murder or Suicide of Asim Jamil, son of Maulana Tariq Jamil in Tulamba ?

 

Asim Jamil, son of renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil was shot dead by unidentified assailants .He received one bullet on his body and died before getting any medical aid in his native town of Tulamba (some 100 km east of Multan),However,DSP Mian Chunnu  called it a suicide asnd claimed that he shot himself . Asim Tariq Jamil son of Maulana Tariq Jamil  passed away in Punjab’s Tulamba on Sunday, his family said. Unconfirmed reports say, some unidentified attackers shot him dead in Tulamba trown of Khanewal district on Sunday evening.

Eye witnesses say,some assailants opened fires on Asim Jamil who sustained serious bullet injuries and was hospitalised in critical condition where he succumbed to wounds due to excessive bleeding.

Confirming the news in a post on socl media platform X (formerly Twitter), Tariq said the “accidental death” had turned the atmosphere mournful.

“We request you all to remember us in your prayers on this sad occasion. May Allah grant my son a high place in heaven,” he added.

Asim was taken to Talamba Rural Health Centre, where he passed away. Mian Channu Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammad Saleem also verified the same .

The DSP said the body was being moved to the family’s home from the health centre.

A statement from the Punjab police spokesperson said Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar took notice of the incident and sought a report from the Multan regional police officer.

“The cause of death should be determined in the light of evidence and forensic report,” he said.

The police statement said the Khanewal district police officer and other senior personnel were present on the scene and evidence had been collected.

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf extended his condolences and solidarity to the bereaved family.

“We all share your grief over this accident,” PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said as he also condoled the family.The death of Jamil’s son prompted political and influential personalities to extend condolences. Former Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf offered his heartfelt condolences on the unfortunate demise of Asim Jamil.

In his message, he prayed for the elevation of the departed soul, invoking the Almighty to grant solace and fortitude to Maulana Tariq Jamil and his grieving family during this challenging period.
