"Let us renew our commitment to defend our independence and integrity- Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi


September 6 (Defence & Martyr Day) marks the 56th anniversary of the 1965 Pakistan-India war when the nation’s forces defended the country from an Indian attack and wrote a chapter of bravery,valour and ,sacrifice in Pakistan's history . This year, the day is being observed to pay tribute to the country’s martyrs and to reaffirm commitment to defending Pakistan against all threats. We also salute the courage and resolve of the mothers, fathers and families of our martyrs,” 

In his defence day message, Noted industrialist, Former President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI),former Punjab caretaker Minister of Industry and sitting President of DGCCI Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said that the day was a reminder of the spirit and valour of Pakistan's armed forces and the nation through which they thwarted the evil designs of the enemy on this day, 56 years ago. He said the nation saluted the martyrs as well as their families for their fortitude as they set a great example of patriotism by sacrificing their loved ones for defence of the country.

Jalaluddin Roomi said ,"It makes me happy that we have achieved self-reliance in the defence field  We are able to thwart external aggression or any misadventure; we have successfully defeated terrorism and extremism, and now we are on the path towards economic prosperity."

“The spirit of September 1965 still lives in our hearts and I can proudly say that because of this, we have been successful in many testing times. Our armed forces’ professional excellence, combat readiness, and above all their unwavering faith in Allah has made Pakistan invincible,” he added.

Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said that Nation faced a severe crisis and challenge due to pandemic "Corona Virus"for the last two years but Pakistani armed forces  played their role to alleviate the miseries of the people. They supplied bags of food and disinfectant spray, military personnel have been among the first responders in the coronavirus pandemic. we are proud of their services besides launching operatioons against the terrorists and external plotters. He expressed his grief on the sad demise of renowned Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Geelani and prayed for him.
