Jamaat Islami organised a rally against Unemployment, price hike,inflation, Poverty


Activists of the Jamaat-i-Islami Multan organised a protest rally at Chowk Kutchery on Friday in protest against price hike, injustice, unemployment, inflation and electricity tariff.

Dr. Safdar Hashmi Amir of Jamaat Islami Multan district and other office bearers  were in the lead.

Addressing protesters, they said that the common man was crushed during the last three years of PTI Government, Prices of Vegetable Ghee, Cooking Oil, Sugar, dairy products and other essential commodities have gone high sky. Since the arrival of PTI Government, prices of milk, sugar and other essential commodities had increased manifold and the common man could not purchase even milk for his children, JI amir said.He said that even the coalition partners of the government had rejected the budget, saying that its passage would be termed hypocrisy. He criticised increase in the Hajj fares.

He demanded that farmers should be given relief on water charges and land revenue in place of tractors.The Jamaat leaders alleged that the government was already making huge profits from petrol, electricity, gas and other basic facilities, forcing the poor to the verge of suicide. They said inflation, unemployment and load shedding had made the lives of the people so difficult that they were committing suicides along with their children. They said the rulers had forgotten that by raising the price of petrol, all basic needs like vegetables, lentils, flour, edible oil, meat, etc. had become more and more expensive.

They criticised Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, saying with his appointment, the government had increased implementation on IMF conditions at the cost of poor masses.
