Ten people killed in Punjab road crashes


At least Ten people were killed whereas 973 were injured in 890 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the past 24 hours.

Out of the total injured, 584 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals whereas 381 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site. A driver of trailer killed when its vehicle skidded from road on Multan- Bahawalpur road

The majority of accidents, around 64%, involved motorcycles.

Furthermore, the analysis showed that 409 drivers, 50 underage drivers, 113 pedestrians, and 451 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.

The statistics showed that 221 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 223 persons, placing the provincial capital at the top of the list, followed by 71 in

The details further revealed that 973 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 767 male & 206 female victims.

The age group of the victims showed that 194 were under 18 years of age, 517 were between 18 and 40 years and the rest of the 262 victims were reported to be above 40 years of age.

According to the data, 736 motorcycles, 120 auto-rickshaws, 118 motorcars, 37 vans, five-passenger buses, 30 trucks, and 109 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
