Pakistano National Productivity Organization (NPO) Pakistan CEO Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry has said that Asian Productivity Organization (APO) is playing a pivotal role in transforming member economies and has introduced several programmes on smart transformation for industry, public sector, agriculture and services sectors.In fact NPO is endeavouring to take initiatives for the continuity of productivity promotion during the uncertain period of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has disrupted our lives in several ways, he said.He was addressing the talking to the office bearers of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) including President Khawaja Salahuddin, Vice President Mian Shafi Anis, Former Presidents of MCCI Mian Fazal Elahi Sheikh, Khawaja Muhammad Yousafm Khawaja Muhammad Usman, Ex-Vice President Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, Faisal Saeed,Ali Ahsan, Sheikh Faheem Sattar and Azhar Baloch. He said that an expert can be provided on demand for 15 days against merely 50 dollars to the manufacturers, industrialists etc for capacity building. Alamgir lauded the efforts of APO team, NPO team members and stakeholders, especially that the PEC involved in the project. All economic sectors could accrue substantial improvement in productivity by adopting knowledge management techniques in system development technologies handling, production process and services. He further added that any crisis presents the opportunity to help us learn, cultivate compassion and increase resilience while building a safer and caring community. Alamgir further added that the concept of online programmes was to prevent the spread of Covid-19 while continuing the activity of capacity building of professionals that is also very important aspect of any economy. The online services will help to minimize the barriers due to the current situation created by Covid-19 and it will also reduce the negative impact on creation and application as well as sharing of new knowledge he said.He said that Pakistan can save billions of rupees through energy auditing and World bank had acknowledged that merely 336 units can save Rs. one billion per annum. Now are moving toward digitalisation . NPO in collaboration with Asian Productivity Organization (Tokyo) has launched online programmes for capacity building of professionals as an alternative of physical face to face classroom trainings. President of MCCI Khawaja Salahuddin suggested that special discount be granted for energy audit of industrial units on South Punjab and Special package be announced for the SMEs of this less developed area and due representation be given to Multan chamber in NPO's training programme besides introducing latest course about modern technology. Vice President Shafui Anis said that textile sector was playing a key role in boosting up the exports and providing jobs to millions of people directly and indirectly.We can save billions of rupees through energy auditing which are going waste.
