MULTAN, Jan 17th: Sheikh Fazal Elahi President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI)said that It was a good fortune of people of Multan that Government had provided the facility of a modern Regional Blood Centre (RBC) and the Kidney Centre(TKC).both were equipped with modern machinery.During his visit to two centres alongwith Mian Rashid Iqbal Senior Vice President, Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President,Sheikh Faisal Saeed and acting Secretary General Muhammad Shafiq,he assured all possible cooperation on the behalf of the Multan Chamber and he appreciated the services of the staff of these centres.The delegation was briefed by Brig Doctor Jalil Anwar that Regional Blood Centre (RBC) Multan has a capacity of collecting 50,000 blood donations per year and is linked to 11 existing hospital blood banks of Multan. This modern Regional Blood Centre (RBC) in Multan was developed with the German government grant through KfW-German Development Bank and the EPOS-implemented “Safe Blood Transfusion Project”.This Regional Blood Centre is among 10 Centres developed with the German government grant of Rs.2 Billion (15 million Euro) as part of the establishment of a nationwide network of 10 modern blood centres and renovation of 59 existing hospital based blood banks throughout the country in the first phase of the project.
Ali Imran Zaidi head of The Kidney Centre (TKC) said that it is a not-for-profit specialized hospital providing quality care to patients suffering from kidney disease. TKC opened its door to the public in 1985 with a small dialysis unit consisting of just two machines. Today, TKC provides comprehensive quality renal care to patients suffering from kidney and bladder problems. It has 100 in-patient beds, four operating theatres, and intensive care unit (with ventilators) for both adults and paediatrics, and a full range of Urological, Nephrological and transplant services.Variety of services are available at TKC. Include Nephrology, Transplant Clinic, Urology, Haematology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Endocrinology Neurology, Pulmonology, Nutrition and Physiotherapy. Sub Manager Marketing Mohsin Abbas, Deputy Manager (admin) Imran Shehzad, Sub officer (Admin)Ahsan Anwar,Syed Asim Raza, Muhammad Ramzan, Najam Ahmed and Shomaila Suhail were also present there.
