Pakistan's main opposition parties " PPP, PML-N, JUI-F" held protest rally in Multan to implement its Plan-C of Azadi March" at Manzoorabad (Multan) on friday. The so-called Plan-C protests, a year after Khan's PTI party swept to power following a bitterly contested election, come amid mounting economic problems for Pakistan and a political climate that has grown increasingly angry.Surging prices of fuel and everyday staples, a plunging currency that has lost a quarter of its value since the election and allegations of media censorship and stifling opposition voices has fuelled the protests.
"Every day in the presence of Imran Khan is a doom's day," leader of the PPP Malik Nasim Labar, Malik Bashir Ahmed, Khawaja Imran, NaeemShehzad Bhatti, Haji Khalil Raan, Ashiq Ali, PML-N party leaders Sheikh Tariq Rashid, Rana Shahid-ul-Hassan, Bilal Butt, Sheikh Athar Mumtaz and other Sharif's supporters say their party was not given a level playing field in the run-up to the July 2018 elections, with the judiciary exclusively targeting PML-N officials and the caretaker government unleashing a massive crackdown on PML-N activists.and JUI leaders accused Khan of accepting "dictation" from US President Donald Trump during his visit to Washington.
Banners reading "PTI brought price hikes, Unemployment, PTI brought joblessness, PTI brought economic terrorism" hung over the main stage. They lashed out against Khan, saying that the "illegitimate" government came to power through the army's support and said "Prime Minister Imran Khan will have to resign. Hundreds of people have gathered in Multan With inflation climbing to 8%, the rupee losing a third of its value over the past year, and foreign exchange reserves barely enough to cover two months of imports, Khan's government was forced to turn to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in May for a bailout package.
