MULTAN, Nov 30th: The trial  of Junaid Hafeez, an ex-visting lecturer of Bahauddin Zakarioya University's English Literature Department adjourned till December 12 in New Central Jail, Multan on Saturday. He is languishing inprison for the last six years and eight month.Additional Session Judge Multan testified the evidences of 15 witnesses and lawyers of the prosecution and defence have completed the counter examinig process has also completed.Junaid was arrested in March 13,2013 on blasphemy charges and since then transfer of judges, delaying tactics by prosecution witnesses and lawyers’ reluctance to present the suspect sit on the trial. During the course, Rashid Rehman, who dared put up the defence of Junaid, was gunned down in 2014. The court conducted the hearing on November 30 (today) where both the defence and the prosecution concluded arguments. The family wants the top court’s intervention for the conclusion of the final arguments as they fear that the prosecution may drag the trial on procedural footings. Junaid's father said that his son was one of five Pakistani students selected under the Fulbright Scholarship Programme to complete their Masters from the United States.
