Soon after six civilians sustained injuries in cross-border firing, Pakistan Army soldiers responded effectively targeting Indian posts and killing five troops, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
Indian troops resorted to unprovoked fire in Chirikot Sector of the Line of Control (LoC) targeting civil population, the military’s media wing said.
Six people, including a woman and four children, were injured who later shifted to hospital.
They were identified as Shabnam, 35; Nisah, 14; Kashan, 13; Asifa, 10 and Faizan, 6 – the residents of Serian village. And Shahid Hussain, 28, got injured in Chafar village.
On April 2, three Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in unprovoked firing by Indian forces along LoC, according to ISPR. Moreover, seven Indian soldiers were also killed and 19 others injured in retaliatory fire.

The LoC violation is the latest in a series this week. On Monday, an elderly villager had died and two women and three young boys were injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in unrelenting ceasefire violations by Indian troops, officials had said.
A day later, the ISPR said that three Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred due to unprovoked firing by the Indian army at Rakhchikri Sector in Rawalkot.
