PPP stages demos against POL price hike across Country

MULTAN, Nov 5th: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) South Punjab oerganised a  protest demonstrations outside Multan press club on Sunday against hike in petrol prices at the call of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Women wing also joined them in Multan.The demo was led by Khawaja Rizwan Alam, Dr.Javed Siddiqui, Babu Nafees Ansari, Khalid Hanif Lodhi, Rao Sajid Ali,Ch.M.Yasin, Malik Nasim Labar,Habib-ullah Shakir advocate.Participants were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the PML-N government and shouting slogans against the price hike.It was an impressive protest against the Government. Dr.Javed Siddiqui said that  the government on Wednesday had revised prices of petroleum products, increasing the price of petrol by Rs2.49 per litre while high-speed diesel (HSD) price was increased by Rs5.19 per litre. The price of light-speed diesel (LSD) was increased by Rs3 per litre which had directly hit the  farmers who run their tubewells and tractors with High Speed  diesel. He said that directives had been sent to all party leaders in the province to gather outside the press clubs and protest against the hike that could directly affect the common man in the country. Khawaja Rizwan Alam said “Contrary to its promises, the federal government has failed to provide low tariff electricity and fuel to the consumers in the country,” , adding that despite low fuel prices globally, the rulers were bent upon increasing the prices to hit the masses economically.He said that the way PML-N had ruled the country in the last four years had exposed its level of governance and the promises made to give relief to the masses were yet to be materialised.Nafees Ansari Advocate  said that these were the economic policies of the PML-N government that had overburdened the masses and had further suppressed the poor people.“PPP have always raised voice for the suppressed segments of the society and it will not back off until PML-N government decides to withdraw increase in the petroleum prices,” he resolved. The demo was  also joined by M.Salim Raja, Mirza Nazir Baig,Begum Maqbool Shaukat,Begum Imran Bhutta, Shabana Gul, Mian Kamran Abdullah Maral, A.D.Khan Baloch, Riaz Raza,Raees-uddin Qureshi, Begum Shehnaz Lodhi, Raazia Rafiq, Abdul Rauf Lodhi, Imran Javed Sumra,Tariq Shad, Haji Khalil Raan, Syed Akam Zaidi, Nasir Zaidi, Saleem Khan Dahar, Malik Ramzan Kamboh, Khalid Thaheem, Haji  Akram Ansari, Shamshad Sayal, Saqlain Saeedi,Arsghad Bhutta,Iqbal Sargana,Mehroz Shakir,Razab Ali ,Abbas Zaidi.
