Transgender staged a demonstration to condemn the torturing and flogging a transgender person in Sialkot

MULTAN, Nov16th: A number of  transgender staged a demonstration at Chowk Nawan Shehr to condemn the torturing and flogging a transgender person in Sialkot and posted the incident on social media. The demo was led by Chief of Shemales Association Shahana alias Shani. The participants were carrying placards inscribed with slogans "Protect the transgenders," Sialkot case be tried in Anti Terrorism court." Supreme Court should take notice of inhuman behaviour," Jajja Butt be flogged publicly," .Shahana Shani said that Transgender people in Pakistan are social outcasts - often forced into begging, dancing and prostitution to earn money.He said that There has been an increase in incidents of violence against transgender people in the province, where they have been beaten and their heads shaven.Shemales community also criticised the police for not providing them security in the wake of rising incidents of attacks on community members.
