Khawaja Muhammad Younus of Mehmood group of Textiles has been elected unanimously as Chairman of APBUMA

Khawaja Muhammad Younus  of Mehmood group of Textiles has been elected unanimously as Chairman of All Pakistan BedSheet & Upholstry Manufacturers Association( APBUMA) for the term of 2016-17. While Bilal Jamil was elected as Senior Vice Chairman and Syed Muhammad Fazil Shah as Vice Chairman for the term.Earlier in addition to office bearers, from Multan  Khawaja Abdul Haq and Mrs. Aneela Iftikhar, From Karachi Muhammad Ameen Allana and Ms. Lubna Jamil Horani, From Lahore  Amir Abdullah and from Faisalabad  Azhar Majeed were also elected Executive committee members of the Association.In his maiden address Khawaja Muhammad Younus  thanked all the members for showing their confidence in him and expressed his commitment towards the raising the all issues confronted to textile sector of Pakistan on each and every Governmental forum for possible solutions. He said that energy crisis has become a chronic problem and major cause for rise in cost of doing business resultantly losing competitive edge over our competitors for product price.He was of the view that another reason for the stagnant industrial activity is the lack of commitment for the payment of billion of rupees of exporters on account of rebate and sales tax refund. He said that although Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan has distributed the cheques to exporters in this regard but there are more claims are awaited for refund.The newly elected chairman requested APBUMA members for their support and feedback on the issues to be able to effectively plan and making APBUMA a proactive platform to raise the concerns and problems of the sector. The Chairman was optimistic that efforts of the Government in the right direction will result uninterrupted supply of energy resources to textile sector.
