Unknown gunmen shot dead a bride Aamna bibi (22) on Chakri road, Rawalpindi on Sunday, Police reported.
The woman was targeted by motorcyclists when she was returning from a beauty parlor after preparation for matrimony.
A brother of the victim accused one of his cousins of killing his sister. He told that a paternal cousin had warned the family against marrying the girl off.
Police have yet to come up with a statement about the motive of the murder.
Police officials claimed that she was killed over a matrimonial dispute, and was supposed to get married tonight when the incident happened.
Eyewitnesses said the police were immediately informed after the incident, but arrived late due to which the assailants managed to escape.
Her body was shifted to the mortuary of District Headquarters Hospital, and was later handed over to her family members who appeared inconsolable over her death.Police sources said the firing incident occurred over a family dispute. One of the bride’s sisters also lost her life due to a family enmity five years ago.
