Five accused including Two Lyari gangsters were killed in two separate police encounters in different areas of the metropolis early on Saturday.Police also nabbed two street criminals at Malir Halt
Police said two accused were shot dead in retaliatory fire near Malir Cantt No.5. The deceased were looting a truck loaded with sugar bags when police arrived and exchange of fire took place.
Two of their accomplices managed to flee.
Separately, police killed an accused identified as Munna alias Topi and arrested his aide Noman in injured condition near Nishan-e-Haider chowk in Orangi town.
Police said on a tip-off police launched an action in the area. Over a hundred police personnel took part in the operation where they used armoured personnel carriers.
The accused opened fired at the police when they entered the area, police said. In the shootout, two Lyari gangsters identified as Shahbaz and Shakeel alias Commando were shot dead.
Shahbaz belonged to the Uzair Baloch group while Shakeel belonged to the Baba Ladla group, police said.
