Internet bullying has increasingly become a problem, and celebrities are not immune to its dangerous affects.
R&B singer Kehlani found herself at the center of a social media scandal on Monday, March 28 and decided to take drastic measures when she couldn't handle the pressure and embarrassment.
She apparently tried to kill herself after countless memes appeared making fun of the alleged love triangle between Kehlani, her boyfriend, Cleveland Cavaliers player Kyrie Irving, and her ex-boyfriend, singer Party Next Door.
The "The Way" singer posted the following message to Instagram before deleting her account:
Today I wanted to leave this earth. Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I'd get to such a low point. But...Don't believe the blogs you read...No one was cheated on and I am not a bad person...Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding..But God saved me for a reason, and for that...I must be grateful..Cuz I'm not in heaven right now for a reason...On that note...Bye Instagram."It all started when Party Next Door posted (a since deleted) photo of himself in bed with Kehlani, his ex-girlfriend, with the following caption: "After all her shenanigans, still got the r&b singer back in my bed."
At the time, most fans thought the singer was still in a happy relationship with baller Kyrie.
That's when the crazy memes and woman-shaming comments started. It was enough to push Kehlani to the edge.
She also posted (and quickly deleted) the following message from her hospital bed.The singer thanks Party Next Door for saving her life. There is still no official comment from Party or Kyrie, but we will continue to follow and update this developing story.
