Three security personnel were killed and two others were injured when armed militants launched an attack on a Levies check-post here on Wednesday, sources said.
The sources said the militants attacked the Levies check-post with sophisticated weapons in the Kahan area early on Wednesday morning. As a result, three Levies personnel were killed and two others sustained injuries. The assailants managed to escape.
After the attack, security forces launched a search operation to hunt down the attackers. Later, the dead and injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.Meanwhile, at least three persons of the Marri tribe were killed and four others were injured in a firing incident in Quetta.
According to police sources, some unidentified armed men entered the house of Marri tribal leader Mozai Mari and opened fire, killing the tribal leader and his two sons on the spot and injuring four others.The assailants managed to flee the scene after the shooting. Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for arresting the accused.
