MULTAN, June 2nd: The business community of South Punjab welcomed the announcement of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar to allow to do business five days a week and only two-day lockdown of Saturday & Sunday instead of three days. President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) Sheikh Fazal Elahi said on the behalf of traders that it would help the businesses revive business activities and play their role in reducing the miseries of masses by providing them opportunities of daily shopping .He said that this step would help alleviate the miseries of small traders and it would have positive effects on our economy. Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI)President Sheikh Fazal Elahi said the government had met the demand of the business community to reopen businesses and now it was their responsibility to take all required precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 and strengthen government’s hands in combating the deadly virus.He eulogised the step taken by the Punjab Government to allow for the opening of all markets, bazaars, shopping malls and other businesses five days a week with longer working hours to ‘keep the economy running’, He said “Eventually, the traders will suffer losses if businesses are shut for not observing the laid down SOPs in the markets, bazaars and public transport,”He said that businessmen, industrialists and traders were backbone of the country's economy and wheel of industry should not be stopped even for a some moment.He said that Pandemic Coronavirus had paralysed the world's economy and badly hit all sectors of a global society.
