Apex court decleres PIA's CEO Musharraf Rasool Cyan appointment invalid

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has cancelled the appointment of Musharraf Rasool Cyan as the chief executive officer of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) on Monday.
A top court three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nasir heard the case regarding the privatization of the national flag carrier.
During the hearing, the bench remarked that "Cyan does not meet the requirements to be appointed as the CEO of PIA so his appointment is illegal".
"This matter was left on the Cabinet to solve it but they did nothing and now they have lost their chance", CJP said during the hearing.
Justice Ijazul Ahsan said, "according to the initial reports Cyan’s appointment as the CEO was not as per law and we are looking into this matter now.”
Justice Ahsan questioned "Was Cyan interviewed by any board? "He had no aviation experience prior to his appointment," he further added.
He also remarked that Musharraf Rasool Cyan was appointed against the guidelines and then prime minister’s adviser, Sardar Mahtab Abbasi, was involved in this appointment.
PIA's counsel Naeem Bokhari argued, "The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced a decision in the case and sent it to the cabinet.”
After listening to the arguments, the SC declared Cyan's appointment as the CEO of PIA illegal and declared it null and void.
