NAB initiated probe against federal Communication Minister

MULTAN-National Accountability Bureau Multan will initiate an investigation against federal minister for communication Hafiz Abdul Karim for establishing his own "Indus" university in Dera Ghazi Khan and issuance of bogus degrees while Metro Multan scandal would also investigated where billions of rupees were embezzled ,said Director NAB Multan Abdul Hafeez Khan while talking to newsmen during the visit of Multan Press Club.He disclosed that NAB had launched an anti corruption drive which was running between November 27 and December 12., He informed that record of Multan Metro Bus project has been sought by the bureau on corruption reports..He said that we have completed the inquiry of WAPDA town phase-III and submitted its record to the concerned section for preparation of a reference.
He expressed his hope that the NAB would complete investigation into Multan metro case in 10 months. He ruled out any possibility of the Punjab Government’s influencing on the investigation process of the case.
He was of the opinion that the situation would have been different, had the media not been free. He said that the NAB got state lands vacated from the illegal occupants and its war against corruption is gaining further momentum. He disclosed that the NAB is also going to launch an awareness campaign to make the masses aware of disaster of corruption.
He said that the NAB worked according to the law and it made decisions on merit. To a query, he said that the Wapda Town Phase-111 corruption case is in the court and NAB had sent its record to the court.
Assistant Director NAB Multan Malik Waheed was also present on this occasion.
 TERRORISTS REMANDED IN POLICE CUSTODY
An anti-terrorism court remanded five alleged terrorists into police custody for 20 days on Tuesday. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) produced the accused before the court and sought physical remand. The alleged terrorists identified as Abu Bakkar, Abuzar, Noman, Mobeen and Arsalan had been caught by the CTD in a raid from Binda Sandeela area on Monday. Police recovered five hand grenades, one pistol and bullets from their possession. CTD claimed that they were planning to attack sensitive installations in Multan.
