MULTAN, August 16th: Former Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that there would have been a fifth federating unit of South Punjab Had we enjoyed the two/third majoprity in the house. He said that Asif Ali Zardari had endorsed  the policy of Bilawal Bhutto by saying that neither was he in touch with ousted premier Nawaz Sharif, nor did he want to be as the former PM’s priorities were different while in power and when he was not.Addressing a hurriedly call press conference at his residence ,Yousaf Raza Gilani said that It was our desire that there should be free, fair and transparent elections  so that people could elect the people of their own choice. "We have accepted the judgement of judiciary and never raised voice against this institution.but Mian Nawaz Sharif was using objectionable language about Judiciar. He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given an unanimous constitution to the nation but it was amended by military ruler and tried to deshape it. He further said that Nuclear programme was given by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto while Benazir Bhutto  stregnthened it. Gilani warned that there would be have been strong reaction if the article 62-63 was amended .He held Mian Nawaz SHarif responsible for not implementation on Charter of democracy.Gilani said the PPP would not be part of any grand national dialogue that Sharif had called for following his disqualification by the top court.“Why doesn’t Nawaz Sharif remember Articles 62, 63, grand national dialogues and agreements when he’s in power,” he remarked. Yousaf Raza  said there was not threat to democracy in the country. “The only threat is to Nawaz Sharif’s own political career,” he added.Gilani further said  that Nawaz was under the illusion that his gatherings were massive because of misuse of bureaucracy and government machinery. He said that allegations and counter-allegations would greatly damage the national polity and this trend would keep women away from entering into mainstream national politics.PPP, he said, never resorted to such indecent behaviour.“We weren’t a ‘soft’ opposition and have never assisted the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N),” he maintained.“I don’t believe that there was any conspiracy to oust Nawaz Sharif. He is going down the wrong path by staging a rally following his disqualification and it won’t help him in any way.”Gilani said.
