Hollywood director Rob Reiner's son Nick arrested after deaths of his parents

Legendary Hollywood film-maker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday.

Police have arrested Nick Reiner, 32 on the charge of killing his parents .The LASD Inmate Information Center says the 32-year-old is being held for a felony-level crime. It says he was arrested at 21:15 local time on Sunday, and booked at 05:04 on Monday after confirmation of the crime committed by him.

The agency involved is listed as LAPD-gang activity and his location is listed as LAPD jail division.

Nick Reiner, 32, is the middle son of the family. Rob Reiner and Michele Singer share three children together.

He has worked as a screenwriter, most notably having co-written the screenplay for the 2016 film "Being Charlie", which his father directed.

The film, about a drug-addicted teenager, was loosely based on his own addiction struggles, he told People at the time of its release.

The Los Angeles  Fire Department was called for medical aid to a home in Brentwood, a Los Angeles neighbourhood home to many celebrities

Police said a 78-year-old man and 68-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the home. They were later identified as Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. The deaths are being investigated as homicides

their son had been arrested, police said

In a news conference last night, the LAPD did not offer any details about the deaths or what they found when they responded

Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said both bodies were still inside the house more than six hours after police and firefighters had been called .A cause of death would be determined by the LA coroner's office, he said
