‘knifemen’ UK train stabbings injure nine, police arrest two suspects

This is the dramatic moment a suspect is Tasered and arrested by multiple police officers following a horror train knife rampage that’s left 10 people were injured, with two said to be fighting for their lives.However ,other person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The buzz of the Taser can be heard as the suspect appears to fight back, while a police dog also barks and an officer tells the suspect “give me your hands now” and another shouts “get the cuffs!

It comes as BTP Superintendent John Loveless told a briefing on Sunday morning that two British-born men, aged 32 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in separate police stations for questioning.

He added that two people remain fighting for their lives in hospital, with four others having been discharged. Viorel, 42, the taxi driver who took the video, said before the man was arrested he was shouting “kill me, kill me, kill me” to the officers

The train involved was the 6.25pm service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross – with it stopped at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Two arrests were made of men aged 32 and 35 on suspicion of attempted murder following the attack

The taxi driver said: “I had arrived at the station pick up point at 7.41 pm and was waiting for a passenger.“As soon as I see the passenger a few minutes later I then see everybody running out of the station.

“Then 10 seconds later a man dressed in black holding a huge kitchen knife in his hand runs past my car at 7.47 pm.“The police arrive seconds later and I could hear him shouting ‘kill me, kill me, kill me’ to them.

“I didn’t understand the gravity until after I left the area and saw the huge police presence.

“I was shocked and then I knew it was bad.” The bloody rampage occurred on the LNER service from Doncaster to London on Saturday evening.

After stopping at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, a little over an hour into the journey at just before 7.30pm, multiple stabbings occurred before an emergency stop was made at Huntingdon – around 22 miles down the line at just before 7.45pm.

A man with a large knife is believed to have subsequently been shot with a Taser by cops – with the incident described this morning as an “isolated attack” by Defence Secretary John Healey.

Witnesses on board the train – which still remains at the station as part of the crime scene – described how passengers were trampled and hid in the toilets as the screams of victims were heard amid the chaos.

One said he initially thought it was a Halloween prank before being left covered in blood.

More than 30 armed officers were scrambled to the station, with a “major incident” declared, before two arrests were made.Counter terror cops were later confirmed to be involved in the ongoing investigation.

Police also declared “Plato”, the national code word used by police and emergency services when responding to a “marauding terror attack”, before the declaration was later rescinded.

The Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer describing the incident as “deeply concerning”.Witnesses have today revealed harrowing details about the terrifying stabbing rampage.

One passenger told The Times frantic people were hiding in loos as panic spread through the carriages. Another, called Gavin, told Sky News that a victim screamed: “They’ve got a knife, I’ve been stabbed.”

He added as the train came to a stop the passenger – who was “extremely bloodied” – was “basically on the floor” as they tried to flee the attackers.It’s understood a man with a knife was seen being confronted on the platform by armed officers before being tasered and restrained.Gavin said officers told him a suspect “was a black male wearing all black”.

He added: “At the back of the station, people started shouting ‘get down get down’ and he was waving a knife, quite a large knife.”

Ten people were rushed to hospital with nine suffering life-threatening injuries, BTP confirmed.Witness Olly Foster told the BBC he heard people shouting “run, run, there’s a guy literally stabbing everyone”, and said he initially believed it was a Halloween prank.

But as he moved down the carriage his hand became “covered in blood” after leaning on a chair – and said he saw an older man sustain head and neck injuries after blocking an attacker from stabbing a young girl.

Other passengers then worked to try and stem the bleeding from his wounds.

Olly claimed passengers were ushered out into the station, adding: “There were multiple people who had been stabbed.”

One eye witness described the scene on the train as “horrific” and “pure chaos”.

They told the Sun: “There was blood everywhere, it was a terrible scene, really violent. It was like something from a film.

“It didn’t feel real and just sparked pure panic onboard. Shocked onlookers were shaken and traumatised.”

Shocking footage shows police cars and ambulances flooding the roads outside of the station, as officers raced along the platform before boarding the train.

Forensic teams and sniffer dogs swept the station, with emergency responders seen working on the tracks, while the scene was sealed off to the public.

Evacuated passengers were reportedly being loaded onto coaches to London.
