Kabaddi player dies of heart attack during match

Kabaddi player Makha Jutt Jahanian Mandiwala ( Khanewal District) tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack during a match in Vehari, leaving the sports community in shock and mourning.

Makha Jutt collapsed during play, and despite immediate efforts, he could not be revived. His sudden passing has cast a shadow over the kabaddi fraternity, where he was known for his dedication and passion for the sport.

Pakistan Kabaddi Federation President Shafi Hussain and Secretary Muhammad Sarwar Rana extended their condolences to the bereaved family.

“This sad incident has come to our attention. We are deeply grieved by the passing of a player on the field,” Secretary Sarwar said in his statement.

He added, “We pray that Allah Almighty grants patience to the family. The entire kabaddi community is saddened by this untimely loss.”

International kabaddi player shot dead during robbery

Meanwhile, an international Kabaddi player was killed in Chunian late Sunday night after armed robbers opened fire on him for resisting a robbery attempt, police confirmed.

According to officials, the victim, identified as Nasir Pehlwan, was returning home from a Kabaddi match when robbers intercepted him. Upon resistance, the assailants shot him in the head, leaving him fatally injured. He succumbed to his wounds shortly after.

Police said Nasir, a resident of Khadian and father of three, had represented Pakistan in various international Kabaddi tournaments, including high-profile clashes against India.

His brother told reporters that Nasir had brought pride to the country through his sports career but tragically lost his life to rising street crime.

Authorities added that a case has been registered at Allahabad Police Station against the unidentified robbers. The body has been shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination, while an investigation is underway.
