Seven soldiers including captain martyred in Lakki Marwat IED blast

Captain among seven soldiers were martyred in an improvised explosive device exploded on a vehicle of Security Forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district Lakki Marwat District, the military's media wing said on Sunday.

According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack targeted a security forces vehicle, which was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in the martyrdom of Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and six other soldiers.

Among the martyred heroes, Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, aged 26, hailing from Kasur, stood as a beacon of courage and commitment. Scheduled to embrace matrimony on June 19, 2024, his untimely demise leaves a void not only in the hearts of his family but also in the entire nation.

The sacrifice extends beyond Captain Faraz, encompassing Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, aged 50, from Skardu, whose 31 years of service exemplified unwavering dedication. He leaves behind a grieving family of a wife, two sons, and five daughters.

Lance Naik Hussain Ali Khan, aged 36, of Ghazar, dedicated 14 years of his life to the service of Pakistan. His valor and sacrifice are a testament to the resilience of our armed forces.

Similarly, Sepoy Manzoor, aged 27, from Gilgit, served for six years in defense of the nation. He leaves behind a wife and three daughters, embodying the profound sacrifice endured by families of our soldiers.

Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, aged 34, from Ganche, devoted 13 years of his life to safeguarding the country. His legacy lives on through his wife, two daughters, and two sons.

Sepoy Asadullah, aged 33, from Multan, served for 14 years, leaving behind a wife and son, while Sepoy Rashid Mehmood, aged 31, from Rawalpindi, served for 13 years, leaving behind grieving parents and siblings.

The ISPR added that sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the area and perpetrators of this henious act will be brought to justice.

"Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve." added the ISPR.
