Bailable arrest warrants of Sardar Jamal Khan Leghari and 14 others issued by LHC

Multan: High Court Multan Bench has issued bailable arrest warrants of Sardar Jamal Khan Leghari chairman board of Directors MEPCO ,secretary Sajid Yaquob, and 14 members including Nawazish Ali Pirzada advocate for committing contempt of court time and again by refusing to comply with the Court orders. They would have to appear before District and Session Judge Multan to submit their bail bonds worth Rs.50,000 each.
The court ordered them to appear before the high court on December 14 to submit their reply of show cause notices served on repeatedly  non-compliance of court orders regarding reinstatement and promotion of Petitioner /Line Suprintendent Saif Yousaf . However, The court did not issue arrest warrants of Chief Executive Officer MEPCO because he joined the proceedings regularly. The trial court was informed by the management of MEPCO that the petitioner line superintendent (First) Saif Yousuf has been reinstated and he has also joined the duty in compliance with the orders of Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza in 2017. 

The distinguished judge said that it is an unforgivable crime for high-ranking officers to make fun of the judiciary. However, senior jurist Sheikh Jamshed Hayat pleaded with the court on behalf of his client and took adjournment till December 14. On this day, the case of repeated contempt of court will also be considered. The learned judge said that the rehabilitation and promotion of the petitioner and the repeated contempt of court orders are two separate matters. The Board of Directors of Mapco did not appear despite summons, but the chief executive appeared before the court. And the court was informed that the line superintendent. was dismissed by the Board of Directors and the Board is not willing to take back its decision. When Sheikh Jamshed Hayat appeared on behalf of MEPCO, the honorable judge informed him that the conduct of his clients in relation to the court is quite bad. He should not have taken this case. However, he ordered to follow the order of the High Court on January 26, 2017. Otherwise, he will be sent to jail. It may be recalled that while taking notice of the contempt of court, the learned judge ordered the board of MEPCO. Issued a show cause notice to the Off Director and summoned him personally. Petitioner's counsel Shahzad Mehdi Jatoi informed the bench that his client Saif Yusuf was transferred from LESCO to MEPCO in 2016. But the board refused to give him LESCO seniority, while another employee, Javed Iqbal, was given seniority. In January 2017, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza declared the decision of the Board of Directors null and void. Against which MAPCO appealed to the Supreme Court, which was rejected. During this time, an application for contempt of court was filed for non-implementation of the orders of the High Court. 2019 The management dismissed the petitioner on various charges. But the court restored it. But he was not taken on duty. On March 2, 2023, the complaint against him was withdrawn and on March 11, he was dismissed once again. filed a reply that the seniority of a dismissed employee cannot be decided. But the court declared their reply unsatisfactory and contrary to the orders of the High Court and issued a show-cause notice to all the members of the board of directors and the CEO. done.
