Show cause notices to CEO & Board of directors of MEPCO by LHC Multan bench

Taking a serious view of continuous false statements and fake assurances submitted by the management, Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad, a judge of High Court Multan Bench issued show cause notices to Chief Executive Officer and board of directors of MEPCO and summoned them on November 23,2023 in person. Committing the contempt of court, they dismissed the petitioner in spite of withdrawal of complaint against him a week ago. The court  took notice of the dismissal of a Line Superintendent Ist of Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO)Saif Yousuf despite false assurances from the management after seven contempt petitions from the Board of Mapco. While issuing a show-cause notice to the director, he has been personally summoned on November 23. Counsel for the petitioner Shehzad Mehdi Jatoi informed the honourable court that his client Saif Yousuf was transferred from LESCO to MEPCO in 2016. But the board refused to give him LESCO seniority, while another employee, Javed Iqbal, was given this concession. In January 2017, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza declared the board's decision null and void. Against which Mepco appealed to the Supreme Court, which was rejected. Meanwhile, seven contempt of court applications were filed for not implementing the orders of the High Court. In 2019, the administration The petitioner was dismissed after leveling various charges against him. But the court restored it. But he was not taken on duty. On March 2, 2023, the complaint against him was withdrawn and he was dismissed again on 11th just nine days after withdrawal of complaint. The management filed a reply on fresh contempt petition that the seniority of a dismissed employee cannot be decided. However, the court declared their reply unsatisfactory and contrary to the orders of the High Court and issued a show-cause notice to all the members of the board of directors and the CEO MEPCO.
