Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation donated Rs.one million to Nishar for life saving medicines


Eminent industrialist, former president of Multan & Dera Ghazi Khan chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ex-Punjab caretaker Minister for industries Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi has donated Rs. one million to Nishtar Hospital Multan on the behalf of Jalaluddin Roomi foundation for the purchase of life saving  medicines. He said on the occasion that relieving human sufferings is a source of pleasure and satisfaction which cannot be expressed in words .In the face of disaster and suffering there is a natural human impulse to reach out and help those in need. Medicines are an essential element in alleviating suffering, and humanitarian relief efforts can greatly benefit from donations of appropriate drugs. He said that shortage or non-availability of medicines is common complaint in hospitals and health units. We would have to come forward unitedly for upgradation of these health units and to provide medicines and medical equipment which they required.He said that with the increase of population  our requirements are increasing by leaps and bounds. Government alone cannot provide medicines to each patient. Private sector would have to play its role to join hands with the Government in provision of necessary medical facilities.

Vice Chancellor of Nishtar Health University & Hospital Dr.Rana Altaf Ahmed eulogised the services of Jalaluddin Roomi foundation for the cause humanity and said that this foundation was continuously cooperating in providing medical facilities in Nishtar Hospital and it not only provided funds for upgrading different wards but also constructed a new ward. Dr. Altaf Ahmed said that provision of life saving drugs for needy patients was the best step and others must follow it. He said that Nishtar Hospital serves thousands of  patients daily. He said that philanthropists like Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi ever came forward for the rescue of this institution. Particularly, He played a good role during pandemic  "Corona Virus". He provided self-protection kits for medical and para-medical staff and distributed ration among the lower staff.Vice Chancellor Nishtar University Dr.Rana Altaf Ahmed said that Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation(JRF)was executing a number of clean-water projects in South Punjab and Balochistan since long. Provision of clean water is its top priority in such areas where hepatitis is spreading. He said that it was the need of the hour to serve the deprived classes of the society by providing health ,education facilities, clean drinking water besides alleviating the poverty.
