"We are thankful to all who prayed for us- Jalaluddin Roomi


Multan: Chairman of Roomi Fabrics Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi has said that with the blessings of Almighty Allah,a big fire that had engulfed the factory in Multan on Saturday was extinguished without any loss of life. Pakistan Army, Rescue 1122, Punjab Police, District administration, staff of Roomi fabrics and residents of the neighbourhood have played a pivotal role to put out the fire.

Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said that this big blaze was not a result any administrative error or negligence of human being but it a major accident which cannot even we assumed.

After the extinguishment of fire, rehabilitation work has been started and I do hope that the factory would be operational very soon. We can't neglect the cooperation,sympathies and concern of all sections of society and institutions.we are thankful to all including Governor Punjab Ch.Muhammad Sarwar, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Commissioner Multan Javed Akhtar Mehmood, Deputy Commissioner Multan Ali Shehzad, Acting Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tayyab Khan, Regional Police Officer Khurram Ali Shah, CPO Multan Masud Munir Marth,Director General Rescue 1122 Dr.Rizwan Naseer, Divisional Emergency Officer Dr. Ijaz Ahmed , District Emergency Officer Dr.Kalim Ullah and fire fighting team of Pak-Arab Fertilizers. He further said that we are also thankful to our friends, well-wishers in Pakistan and abroad who prayed for us and expressed concerns. We appreciate the courage, efforts and services of our workers who did tireless labour to control the fire. We are proud of fire fighters who managed to douse the fire after four days hectic efforts in scorching heat.

Khawaja Jalaluddin roomi who is a sitting President of Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Director of Board of Investment, member of high-level Punjab Agricultural advisory committee and former President of Multan Chamber ,Ex-chairman of Multan DryPort Trust and former Punjab caretaker Minister for Industries said that losses caused by this fire were being assessed  properly. Though it is a hard time for us,yet we would pay full salaries and fringe benefits to our 3000 workers as usual and we would not leave them alone at this juncture. 

He said that we have started the shifting of goods and machinery and implements which remained safe.He said that fire fighting machinery water bowsers and vehicles were removed from the site. Jalaluddin Roomi said that it was a miracle that our spinning ,weaving mills and power plants remained safe because all concerned quarters took timely action. We are optimistic that we would start functioning very soon.
