Gas cylinder explosions kills 7, injures 20 in Karachi & Lahore


 At least three people, including a woman and two children, were killed and four others were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in a shop in the Mosmiyat area of karachi  on Wednesday.While four children killed in Lahore's Burki area.

According to reports, the blast was so severe that it destroyed three shops and overturned a vehicle, injuring its driver, who is reportedly in critical condition.

Security forces had cordoned off the area and the injured have been shifted to a local hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Saeeda Ali, 32, Fatima Ali, 4, and Abdullah, 2. The woman came with her children to visit her brother, whose house is above the shop where the explosion took place.

Earlier in February, it was reported that an explosion left two siblings injured and five houses in Orangi Town's Faqir Colony damaged.

Two minors, identified as Abdur Rehman, 8, and Sidra, 10, were injured as the roof and walls of their house collapsed due to an explosion. Residents of the other houses managed to vacate the buildings in time, while the injured siblings were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Reaching the site, the police alerted the Sui Southern Gas Company and other relevant authorities and cordoned off the site.  An eyewitness to the blast told The Express Tribune that panic spread on the street when the blast occurred.

Four children were killed,while 12 others sustained injuries after a building collapsed due to a gas leakage explosion in Pangali village near Burki road on Tuesday.

According to Rescue-1122, a residential building caved in after an explosion occurred in a house in Pangali village, leaving at least four children, Haroon (5), Anosh (6), Sheri (6) and Ali (8) killed, and 12 other people including Nargis, Faizan, Tasawar, Ramzan, Faryad, Mehnaz, Imran and Safeer injured. 

The residents of the area mentioned that it was an apparent gas leakage explosion. The injured were shifted to Services and Mayo hospitals after being pulled out from the debris. Police reached the spot and started investigation.

CM grieves over death of four persons

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought an immediate report from the administration about a gas blast in a house at Burki Road. The Chief Minister also extended sympathies to the heirs over the death of four persons.
