Dera Ghazi Khan chamber will construct an Expo centre in its building- Jalaluddin Roomi



Noted industrialist and former Punjab caretaker Minister for industries and Sitting President of Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said that Day was no far away when foreign investors and buyers would prefer to visit Dera Ghazi Khan and it would be hub of trade.Presiding over a meeting of Executive Committee of the Chamber here today Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi has asked the Punjab Chief Minister to allocate at least four to six Kanals of land for the building of Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DGCCI) so that an export display centre could also be built to introduce the locally crafted items. There would be a facility of the free stall for members of the chamber However,other local manufacturers, craftsmen and the business community would pay an affordable fee.He further said that a big hall would also be constructed to hold Seminars, Workshops and meetings for the awareness of different sections of society.He told the meeting that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had promised to lay the foundation stone of the Chamber complex which may be unique in South Punjab. Roomi said that a small industrial estate would also be developed near Chorhatta in Dera Ghazi Khan to attract the Small & Medium enterprises and providing maximum jobs to the people of this area.

Jalaluddin Roomi said that we have introduced "Madni DatarKhwan" in Dera Ghazi Khan district to provide meal to destitute,the poor and needy people and these are functional Khawaja Muhammad Younas of Mehmood Group of Industries is purveying food at Darbar Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar, Sun crop group's Latif Khan Pitafi  has established "Datar Khawan at Chohratta(Dera Ghazi Khan city)Al-Hamd Corporation is providing a meal in Taunsa Tehsil while Roomi foundation is providing food in Vohva and Kachh-Fazila (Taunsa Sharif). A number of water purification plants were installed in Dera Ghazi Khan city to provide purified and sweet water to citizens because subsoil water in Dera Ghazi Khan is brackish.He assured to activate all idle water filtration plants. He disclosed that UNICEF had allocated 50,000 US dollars to provide potable water to the rural population of Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan. This amount is sufficient ti run 20 water purification plants,he added.

He urged upon the member of Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber to adopt at least one water purification plant to run it successfully.A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry DG Khan was held under the chairmanship of President Chamber of Commerce Khawaja Muhammad Jalaluddin Rumi. The meeting was attended by senior vice president chamber Muhammad Latif Khan Pitafi, vice president Sheikh Zahid Nizam Qureshi, former presidents Khawaja Muhammad Younus, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan, Sheikh Muhammad Tariq Ismail Qureshi, Anwar Jan Khan Laghari, Sardar Khalil Ahmad Khan and others participated.
