MULTAN, Dec 14th: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the Provision of jobs and safe and clean drinking water to the entire population of Punjab was our top priority. At the same time, he acknowledged that 80% of the province’s population is consuming unsafe drinking water. Exchanging views with renowned Industrialist, President of DCCI, former President of Multan Chamber, Ex-Chairman of MDPT, and former Punjab caretaker Minister for Industries Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi in a meeting, Governor Punjab said that government is committed to providing clean drinking water to masses during next four to five years.”He said that we are doing work on different options to provide jobs to people of South Punjab where unemployment was increasing day by day. But it is not possible to provide job to every job seeker but it would be made possible with the cooperation of private sector. Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi apprised Governor Punjab that we are doing work on the provision of potable water in every nook and corner of Punjab and a number of water purification plants were working round the clock in different areas.
Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi drew the attention of Governor Punjab towards the agriculture sector and said that Government should announce the realistic support price of Cotton before coming the cotton season to bring maximum area under cotton crop. Upon this, Governor assured that cotton would be made a profitable crop and Government would soon announce its support price.He said that the Government was fully aware of the problems confronted by the agriculture sector.
Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi told Punjab Governor that we are also executing a number of health projects in South Punjab to provide proper treatment to needy patients. Improvement of health facilities in Nishtar Hospital Multan is our top priority,roomi said.
Governor Punjab Ch.Muhammad Sarwar acknowledged the spirit of Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi and said that People can get maximum relief if all the philanthropists follow him.
