Modern Technology and value addition are the only ways for survival of economy

MULTAN, Sept 18th: Mian Rashid Iqbal has said that Common Facility Centre of light engineering project would be helpful for the people attached with it. Assimilation of technology up-gradation will help expedite value-addition while enhancing productivity. Mass production of high-value products will ultimately bootstrap the economy to increase the gross domestic product (GDP). He was delivering his speech at an awareness Seminar on up-gradation skills jointly organised by TUSDEC and Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI). He said that in Modern Technology can take Pakistan like developing countries to the next development /time curve. In Pakistan, with abundant human resource, the use of modern techniques and skill development will help ‘jump the curve’ to the further orbits of economic progress. A series of ‘jumps’ to the higher levels through technology up-gradation will close the gap to reach parity with the developed world. To upgrade technology and skills of key and strategic industrial clusters and connect Pakistan to the global value chain, Promote and establish Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Centres by establishing the common facility, design, support and maintenance, testing, certification, incubation, applied research and dissemination centres. Chairman of TUSDEC  Farrukh Siddiqui said that we ard going to establish a technology up-gradation skills Development company's Common Facility  Centre (CFC)in Multan where three-D scanners facility will also be available.which would be an extra opportunity for the industry, Academia and mechanical sector. He said that there would be no need to send the machinery or other parts for repair to big cities and Now Multan centre would be able to provide this facility at home. Speaker told the participants that facilities of modelling, Assembly designing, Driving, drafting, mechanism Design, BD and 3-D scanner, Geometric di-finish etc.They said that this centre will be helpful to upgrade and transfer technology in targeted industrial sectors to enhance their productivity and competitiveness in the local as well as global sphere, Advice on technology policy, technology benchmarks, standards and regulations while performing technology-specific sectoral mapping, Encourage and promote innovation, creativity and competitiveness, Create enabling environment for the growth and support of entrepreneurship and chalking out the critical margins of skill development in the reflection of a socio-economic backdrop of a specific geographical area or as an indication of industrial requirement.The seminar was also addressed by  Ali Abbas, Hira Tariq, Saba Saadia, Alamgir and Muhammad Usman.
