20 Retired Police inspectors,SIs disposed of with direction to Chief Secretary

MULTAN, June 26th: Lahore High Court Multan Bench Judge Mr.Justice Muzammil Akhtar Shabbir today heard a writ petition of 20 retired Police inspectors, Sub inspector pertaining to the implementation of judgement of Supreme Court of Pakistan and payment of group insurance amount to them. The court disposed of the petitions with these directors to Chief Secretary Punjab, Punjab Law Minister, Provincial Secretary Finance and Accountant General Punjab to resolve their problem within 60 days.The petitioners' counsel Muhammad Amer Khan Bhutta submitted that as per the judgement of Supreme court of Pakistan ,Retired Government employees are also entitled to get the group insurance amount because FEB and GIF is a self contributory group scheme financed by nominal subscription by the employees during service In case of death of an employee, monthly benevolent grant. sum assured in case of death during service) and burial charges are paid to his / her family. When the learned court issued direction to resolve this dispute within 30 days,the Law officer Ahmed Nadeem Ghaila, Assistant Advocate General prayed for extension the period from 30 to 60 days as Chief Secretary is very busy person who cannot spare time to listen to the petitioners.
