MULTAN, The Sub Committee of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Export-Import has asked the government to facilitate export-oriented industries by resolving their genuine issues like delay in refunds. It suggested that Government should take serious, effective and far reaching measures to enhance the exports as compare to imports.The Sub committee meeting was chaired by Arshad Iqbal Sheikh and attended by Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh Vice President of MCCI, Syed Iftikhar Ali Shah, Sheikh Muhammad Yasin, Muhammad Tariq Khan, Abrar Ahmed ,Sajeel Ahmed, Muzammil Abbas , Kashan Ahmed ,Ch.Muhammad Muazzam, Muhammad Shiraz and acting Secretary General of Multan Chamber Muhammad Shafiq. It was a need of the hour to keep the banks up-date for online business. The participants also stressed on long-term measures for boosting exports and industrial production in the country and reduce the cost of doing business to compete the neighbouring countries and to increase exports, Expressing their concern on growing imports as compare to exports, they said there is a great potential for exports of Pakistan goods which are not being utilized and urged the government that the new policies should focus on offer long-term predictable incentives for investors and promote exports from the country. Arshad Iqbal Sheikh convener of the sub committee said we are ready to work closely with the government to resolve industrial issues for ease of doing business and to enhance exports and revive growth momentum. They were of the view that market and products diversification is the best method to boost exports. Pakistani exports always remained dependent on a few items and countries, and urged the government to task Pakistani missions abroad with finding new destinations. Arshad Iqbal further said that the trading of goods and services through the internet has changed the entire landscape that has unlocked the reach of business and consumers across the globe.The proliferation of mobile devices with the development of applications linking buyers and sellers has further created opportunities for business to link with domestic as well as global customers.The companies such as Amazon, Ebay and Paypal have developed platforms that facilitate businesses to reach the global market. These platforms have enabled especially small businesses in developing countries like Pakistan extend their reach in international markets.Government must register these "Amazon, Ebay and Paypal " companies in Pakistan.The sub committee said that mutual trade disputes between the importers and exporter must be resolved through Government departments.The sub committee also recommended that Government should provide all facilities and subsidized freight for the exporters of Mango and other fruits besides facility of hot water treatment and phytosanitary
