MULTAN, Nov 27th:Accountability Court Multan Judge Abdul Rashid has awarded five years Rigorous Imprisonment and fined Rs.7,83,32,704 to an accused Asif Kamal son of Muhammad Azam, Ex-Chairman/sponsor Director of Trust Investment Bank Ltd having found guilty.He wastried under section 9 (a)(v)(vi)of National Accountability Ordinance ,1999.The fine will be recovered as arrear of land revenue.The accused shall be entitled to he benefit of Section 382-B Cr.P.C .Asif Kamal (the convict)shall cease to hold public office if any and he is disqualified for a period of 10 years to be reckoned from the date of his release after serving the sentence, for seeking of from being elected ,chosen,appointed or nominated as a member or representative of any public body or any statutory or local authority or in service of Pakistan or any province.Besides,he shall not be allowed any financial institution in the public sector ,for a period of 10 years from the date of conviction.The convict was sent to camp jail Lahore because he was a resident of Lahore
