Dozens of animals have also lost their lives in the region during the last 24 hours as heavy to moderate rainfall still continues across the desert, creating panic among the people of Tharparkar and adjacent areas.

Over two dozens people with lightning strike injuries were shifted to different hospitals of Mithi, Islamkot and Chhachhro.
Mumtaz Nohrio, a resident of Mithi city, said that electricity was suspended to cities with many people believed that it was too dangerous to use mobile phones during the heavy rains.
“That’s why we don’t know exactly what is happening in the remote areas,” he said, adding “There was no rescue system available in the area to move the injured to hospital immediately.”
