CPEC project will emerge as game changer for South Punjab-MCCI President

MULTAN, Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) elected unopposed its new body here on Moday for the year 2019-20 and Sheikh Fazal Elahi emerged as the new president.
The new body formally took over the charge in the MCCI annual general meeting held here today.which was addressed by  Ch.Zulfikar Anjum,Mian Tanvir'A sheikh M.Sarfraz,Sheikh Fazal Elahi 
Member election commission of MCCI told an election meeting that all the office bearers were elected unopposed as no rival candidates had filed nominations for any seat of the MCCI.
Syeda Afshan Gilani and  Ms.Zara Aqeel had already been elected unopposed as member of executive body against two special seats for women entrepreneurs.
He said that Sheikh Fazal Elahi had filed nomination papers for president seat (Associate ClassMian Rashid Iqbal senior vice president (Corporate Class), and Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh vice president (Corporate Class). They were declared successful against their respective seats as no one filed nominations to contest against them.
Members of  the executive body elected unopposed included Abdul Rehman Qureshi, Muhammad Altaf Shahid, Sheikh Muhammad Amjad ,Muhammad Aqeel Ijaz, Muhammad AzharJaved, Khawaja Muhammad Badar Munir, Sheikh Faheem Sattar, Malik Faisal Mehmood ,Khawaja Muhammad Hussain, Majeedullah Khan .Naeem Ahmed, Muhammad Ramzan Bhutta,Riaz Hussain Siddiqui, Muhammad Sarfraz, Mian Shafi Anis Sheikh,Muhammad Shakeel Arain, Sheikh Muhammad Sharif,  Muhammad Tariq ,Muhammad Tariq Khan, Khawaja Muhammad Usman, Sheikh Muhammad Yasin, Syeda Afshan Gilani, and Zara Batool  
MCCI president-elect Sheikh Fazal Elahi thanked the members for electing him and pledged to keep all on board for consultations for promotion of business and industry and development of southern part of Punjab.
He said that south Punjab would witness accelerated business activities by virtue of projects to be undertaken under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He said that MCCI would continue to fulfil its social responsibilities with a new zeal and expressed readiness to work with other departments to ensure easier access of people to education and health facilities.
Outgoing MCCI President Muhammad Sarfraz said that industry was facing difficult times these days and stressed that all the stakeholders should make joint efforts to bring dynamism back to business and industry.
He said that MCCI delegations should conduct meetings with government high ups to get the problems of business and industry resolved and to convince them to launch development projects related to CPEC in south Punjab
