An ISIS butcher who beheaded more than 100 people while still claiming benefits in Britain has been captured in Syria.
Anouar Haddouchi, 35, dubbed ‘the executioner of Raqqa', is from Belgium but moved to Birmingham in 2009.
He received thousands of pounds in housing benefit while fighting for ISIS and is reportedly now being held in a prison run by the Syrian Democratic Forces.Haddouchi was arrested with his wife Julie Maes, 32, after the battle for the last ISIS stronghold of Baghouz.
He beheaded more than 100 people in the Islamic State’s former Syrian capital of Raqqa, Het Laatste Nieuws reports.
They went to Syria to join ISIS in 2014 but after authorities failed to realise they had left, housing benefit was still being paid into his account, according to BBC News.
The couple received almost £10,000 in taxpayers’ money which is thought to have all gone to ISIS.
Haddouchi was unable withdraw the money in Raqqa because of the lack of international banks.
But £3,000 was taken out of his account by accomplices in July 2015 and was handed to the man responsible for planning the November 2015 Paris attacks and 2016 Brussels bombings, Mohamed Abrini.
According to De Morgen, his wife’s father also put money into her account every month until October 2015.
