Federal Tax Ombudsman Mushtaq Shukera has been removed from his post with immediate effect, South Punjab News reported.
He was very close to Nawaz Sharif family and allegedly involved in Model town massacre in June ,2014, as alleged by Pakistan Awami Tehrik.
The ministry of law has issued a notification of Mushtaq Sukhera’s removal.
It may be noted here that Mushtaq Sukhera has been sacked after the federal government filed reference against him.
Justice (retd) Faqeer Hussain is likely be appointed the Federal Tax Ombudsman.
Mushtaq Sukhera, former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in Punjab, was appointed the federal tax ombudsman by Nawaz Sharif’s government in August 2017.
In 2018, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) framed charges against Sukhera on a private complaint filed by the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in connection with the IGP’s alleged role in the June 2014 Model Town massacre.
