PCGA delegation called on Chief Commissioner RTO, Agri Minister

MULTAN,April 13th: Chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) Mian Mehmood Ahmed  called on Chief Commissioner Multan RTO Mian Abid Raza Bodla to apprise him of grievances of cotton ginners .Chief Commissioner assured him that RTO office  would fully cooperate with the tax-paying ginners and their grievances would be redressed on top priority basis. He asked the cotton ginners and owners of composite units to fully adhere the SRO-253 which provides Special procedure for payment of sales tax on cottonseed oil and to exempt cottonseed oil cake from payment of sales tax. He said that they must deposit tax at the rate of Rs.7 per 40 kg  on cottonseed (Binola) to escape from future complications and to enjoy  other facilities and concession. If they failed to comply with these orders,then notices would be served on them  and they would have to face the music in default of payment of due tax.
The PCGA delegation comprised on Mian Mehmood Ahmed  (Chairman) Mehr Muhammad Ashraf (Vice Chairman) Malik Talat Suhail and Ch.Waheed  Arshad also met Punjab Agriculture Minister Malik Numan Landarial, Director General(Agriculture ) Dr.Anjum Ali Buttar and exchanged  views about contamination-free cotton, Premium policy for the producers of good quality cotton, awareness drive for cotton picking and to ensure fair return of raw-cotton to the farmers.
The delegation also joined a meeting of Cotton Crop Management Group at CCRI chaired by Punjab Agriculture Minister Malik Numan Langarial while Jehangir Khan Tareen was chief guest in the meeting.He exchanged views with farming community and agricultural scientists to achieve the target of 15 million bales (170 kg each).Tareen said that we would have to enhance the per acre yield besides expanding the cotton sowing area to meet the challenge.
