Speaker NA has no right to stop his name from PAC- Sheikh Rashid

MULTAN, Feb 13th: Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed  has claimed that he was a member of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and he would attend its meeting whenever he would like. Speakers National Assembly has no right  to stop his name in PAC and he is mere a postman who have to accept the nomination of party head. Talking to mediamen at Muzaffargarh railway station when he reached throughThal express alongwith Shabbir Ali Qureshi Minister of state.He said that he had asked Imran Khan to replace any of his member with me in the Public Accounts Committee. He said that  federal minister can be member of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated him on behalf of his party to replace Riaz Fatyana in the parliamentary body.Sheikh Rashid said he has started his journey by train from January Ist to travel to various destinations across the country for having firsthand on ground information about railways functioning and needs of the travelers. “My journey does not meet to be on board the train all the time during this month (February). Rather I shall also be dispensing with other official duties to my Ministry and the Cabinet.”
He also announced numbers for the complaint center and shifting it to Islamabad from Lahore and also starting a tracking system within next few days enabling the passengers to know exact location of trains from their homes.
The minister also hinted at merging certain departments of Pakistan Railways with sister departments to control expenditure as he mentioned to recent experience of merging some departments with others that had saved diesel worth millions of rupees.
Answering a question, the minister said after achieving the benchmark of running 40 new trains he will focus the condition of platforms. Pakistan Railways has 150,000 pensioners and 100,000 employees while the entity is running with a deficit of Rs 35 billion. “We are running in deficit and this situation poses serious challenges to bring railways back on track. But, nobody can beat experience of Sheikh Rashid. I am confident to cope with challenges I am facing in revamping Pakistan Railways.” He said that he would give a call,in necessary,to burn the effigy of Shahbaz Sharif across the country. He said that Shahbaz sharif used opposition parties to become Chairnman of PAC so that he could make issue production order to attend the PAC meeting. Sheikh Rashid said ,"we are not afraid of those who would not let the parliament run .Because they would not able to walk  in this country after an interval. Forty thieves are standing in a row awaiting their fate. They would be behind bars after June 30. The Minister said that former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would soon be in "Shikanja". Medical report of Shahbaz Sharif is same as was 20 years ago. When they come into power they al,ost "Fit" when they are stepped down, they are "Unfit".
