Five people die of lightning after rain in Kohat

Five people died in Kohat from electrocution after heavy rain lashed the Sorgul area on Thursday, Express News reported.
Reportedly, lightning struck an electric transformer which lead to a power surge in connected residences, electrocuting those in contact with electric appliances at the time.
Several others were also injured and a majority of them were said to be in critical condition.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) heavy rain and snowfall is expected to continue in different parts of the country till Friday.
In Punjab, snowfall is expected in the Murree and Galiyat areas while in Balochistan, Quetta, Khuzdar and Kalat should receive snowfall. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P)’s, Naran, Kaghan, Swat, Dir, Malakand and Hazara divisions are also expected to receive snowfall.
Meanwhile, rainfall is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Sargodha divisions of Punjab, Sukkur, Kashmore and Larkana divisions of Sindh and different parts of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) and Kashmir.
