Mosque imam gunned down in Sargodha

An imam (Prayer leader) of a local mosque was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Sargodha on Monday. Sargodha Police said that Two persons including an Imam Masjid were killed in separate firing incidents in Miani and Jauhrabad police limits on Monday. However, Son of the prayer leader escaped unhurt.

According to details, Ghulam Haider (71), Imam Masjid,r/o Vadhan village along with his son Saqlain was going to Jinnah Colony in a car when four unknown armed persons riding on two-motorcycle opened fire on the vehicle.

As a result, Ghulam Haider received critical bullet injuries and died on the spot.

In another incident, Muhammad Rizwan shot dead his elder brother Mujahid Ali over property dispute in Chak 111/ML and managed to escape.

Police registered separate cases and started investigation.
