According to security officials, the miners were abducted in the Zargon Khel area. Once the security officials were informed of the kidnapping, they sealed the mountainous region and began a search and checking operation.
The kidnappers abandoned the miners in Dongay, an area in the mountains, and fled. Hand grenades, pistols and masks were found in the area where the miners were kept overnight.
Security agencies have begun a search and strike operation to find the kidnappers and have also asked the miners for their help to identify them.As per media report, two of the kidnapped miners had managed to escape in the darkness of the night and had alerted the authorities who then conducted the rescue operation.According to the two colliers who managed to return, the kidnappers had taken their colleagues to the mountains in Darra Adam Khel.Earlier, KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan took the notice of the incident and instructed the authorities to ensure the safe return of the miners. The CM also ordered an immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
