Multan Industrial estate would be made "Model" in Punjab -Commissioner

MULTAN, Dec 12th: Commissioner Multan Division Imran Sikandar Baloch has assured that an outstanding demand of proprietary rights to leasees of Industrial estate ,Multan would be recommended to Punjab Government besides providing  quality infrastructure, efficient, cost effective and sustainable management of industrial estate. Addressing the member of board of managementof Industrial estate chaired by its president Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi, Commissioner said that Industrial estate spread over 743 acres was developed in 1980 (38 years ago) whereas 667 acres are being developed as phase-II . He said that It is a matter of pride for me that more than 25,000 workers are serving there.Now they should focus on skill development to provide trained labour besides providing jobs to special persons to make them useful persons of the society. He said that Government was paying proper attention to make Industrial estate of Multan a model estate of the province by providing all possible facilities to investors.Stressing the need for launching a crackdown against the illegal occupants, encroachers,he said that every inch of the state land would be retirieved from them.He assured to construct an overhead bridge on the railway level crossing of Shershah road to maintain the flow of traffic without any hinderance. Commissioner Multan said that basic facilities like medical aid, residential facilities, social security, EOBI and protection would be provided to working class so that they could play their role to boost up the industrial production. He said that traffic pressure on the entrances of the Industrial estate would reduced by maintaining the smooth flow of traffic. He said that matter of double taxation would be discussed with concerned authorities and he expressed his satisfaction on the working condition of Labour  serving in industrial estate.In his welcome address Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi President of Board of Managemenrt of Industrial Estate Multan said that survey of overhead bridge has already been completed as there was dire need of this bridge to keep the flow of traffic smooth and continuous. Its case was referred tio provincial ministry of industries. He suggested that Government should grant proprietary rights to all leasees without any further delay. They have also offered reasonable price against these rights. Roomi said that Excise and Taxation department of Punjab Revenue authority were realising taxes from the industrialists. The system of double taxation must be stopped. He said that Industrialists of Multan are taking part in charity activities besides playingtheir role in the development of the city. Roomi said that a recretional park would soon be developed inIndustrial estate and it would be a good addition in the facilities for citizens.He said the green belt would be made attractive with the collaboration of Punjab Horticulture Authority. The event was also attended by Mian Tanvir A Sheikh Ex-President of FPCCI,Khawaja Muhammad Azam,Ex-President BOMIEM,Bakhtawar Tanvir Sheikh, Chaudhry Altaf Shahid, Dr.Muhammad Shafiq,Aitizaz-ul-Haq, Maj(Retd) Khurram, Asif Majid, Khawaja Shehzad, Muhammad Idrees, Secretary General Muhammad Tahir and Mohsin Nazir .
