16 passenger were killed and 40 injured in three road accidents in South Punjab

Twelve people were killed while several others injured in two separate road accidents in South Punjab on Monday.
Eight passengers were killed and several injured when when a speeding bus plunged into Chashma Right Bank Canal in Taunsa and four others died when a passenger bus overturned in Rajanpur.
Dozens of other passengers sustained multiple injuries in both the road accidents who were shifted to different hospitals, the police said.
In DG Khan, a speeding passenger skidded off road and plunged into a Chashma Right Bank canal near Taunsa. According to police and rescue sources, six passengers died on the spot in the accident while more than a dozen others got critical injured.
Several others were rescued by the rescue team and local people.
The locals present at the site of the incident said that scores of people were onboard the bus. The police and rescue officials, however, said that about 158 passengers were onboard the bus. The injured were shifted to THQ Hospital Taunsa and and DHQ Hospital DG Khan.
The police said that the accident occurred due to speeding as the driver lost control of the steering as result the bus plunged into the canal.
The police have launched further investigation. In another accident, a passenger bus overturned due to speeding on Indus Highway near Bangla Dhangan in Rajanpur district.
As result, four persons died and 24 others sustained multiple injuries.
Rescue 1122 officials shifted the dead bodies and injured persons to different hospitals. The hospitals sources feared that the death toll could rise as condition of some of the injured is critical. The police have launched investigation into the incident. Separate cases into both incidents have also been registered at by the police concerned.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur road accidents and has condoled with the bereaved families.
In another accident, four passengers have been Killed and twenty four injured when a passenger bus over turned on Indus Highway near Bangla Dhangan in District Rajanpur today.
According to Rajanpur police all injured are being provided necessary treatment in District Headquarters Hospital Rajanpur.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the traffic accident in Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.
He condoled with the bereaved families and expressed sympathies with them.
He directed the officials to provide best medical facilities to the injured.
He also sought report from the administration about the incident.-

A speeding tractor-trolley crushed four people including two women and as many minor children to death at Street No. 1 Marzipura, Multan Road here on Monday afternoon.
Ruksana Bibi, a resident of Chak No. 563/EB Machiwal, along with her family members, was crossing Multan Road near Street No. 1 Marzipura when a speedy tractor-trolley loaded with wheat hit them. As a result, Ruksana Bibi, 38, Ali Tahir, 8, and Zainab Bibi, 5, were crushed to death while another woman, Khalida Bibi, was critically injured. A Rescue 1122 team shifted her to THQ Hospital Burewala where she also succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the tractor-trolley managed to flee from the scene after the accident. Police took the vehicle into custody and started investigation.
The relatives of the deceased persons blocked Multan Road in protest, and traffic remained jam for several hours. In Okara, four minor children sustained critical injuries after the school van they were travelling in turned turtle due to speeding on Monday. On Depalpur-Basirpur Road, the driver of a school van lost control over steering, and the vehicle turned turtle. Four minor students got injured, and they were rushed to the THQ hospital Depalpur.
