The foreign minister apprised Fauzia Siddiqi of government's efforts regarding Afia Siddiq's case.
They also exchanged views bringing back Dr Afia Siddiqi to Pakistan. Shah Mehmood also issued special instructions to Pakistan's Consulate General in Huston regarding Dr Afia Siddiqi's matter.
Last week, Qureshi said that the government will make all efforts on the diplomatic level to bring Dr Aafia back to Pakistan.
The minister also denied any offer made by the US in the past to free the incarcerated Pakistani neuroscientist in exchange for the release of Raymond Davis, a CIA operative who gunned down two men in Lahore in 2011.
Earlier, Foreign Office Spokesperson Muhammad Faisal also said Pakistan has raised the issue of Dr Aafia with the United States but no decision has been taken regarding her release as yet.
