Itteahd & Friends groups are daggers drawn in MCCI election

MULTAN, Sept 16th:As many 438 registered voters will exercise their right of vote roday to elect 12 member of executive committee, Seven from corporate class and five from associate class.Member of Election Commission Farid Mughis A Sheikh said that polling will begin from 0900 am and will conclude at 0400 PM.Soon after completion of polling. counting will begin in the presence of representative of both groups.He said that Director General Trade Organisation,on the request of friends group, has nominated two observers to monitor the election process. They are officers in TDAP Lahore and Sialkot. Both groups have established their election camps as per code of ethics framed by election commission with the consent of two parties. 239 voters will elect the five member of associate class and 199 voters will elect seven member of Corporate class. There would be one to one contest on all seats. The executive committee will elect a President, a senior vice president and a vice president among themselves.Friends group wants to introduce Saim Zulfikar Chaufhry as President while Ittehad group did not declare its nominees for top slots.
Corporate class candidates (Seven seats) Shakeel Ahmed, Arshad Iqbal Sheikh, Raza Ammar, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Azhar  Javed,  Saim Zulfikar Chaudhry,Khawaja Azhar Ahmed,Mian Rashid  Iqbal, Naeem Ahmed Sheikh, Khawaja Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Sarfraz, Majeedullah Khan, Muhammad Tariq Khan, Muhammad Aqeel Ijaz.
Associate class candidates(Five seats) Khawaja Riaz Hussain Siddiqui, Nadeem Ahmed ,Muhammad Ramzan Bhutta, Anwar Saleem Keen, Sheikh Faheem Sattar, Khawaja Muhammad Usman,Khawaja Muhammad Badar Munir,Sheikh Muhammad Amjad, Muhammad Suhail Tufail, Muhammad Waqas Azeem.
Ch.Zulfikar Anjum Chief Executive of Volka Foods has said that friends group believes in democracy and taking all decisions with consensus. The group has nominated and support people of high integrity, honesty and professional commitment with a strong will to addressing challenges faced by the business community. He said that elections were being held in Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) after 26 years of stalemate.He said that only four families have occupied the Multan chamber and they were ruling turn by turn.But we have broken the ice and raised voice against this unhealthy and undemocratic "modus operandi"
Chairman of All Pakistan Bedsheet & Upholstry Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) Chairman  Syed Muhammad Aasim Shah announced to support the Ittehad group on the behalf of his member acknowledging the services rendered by the office bearers of Multan chamber during last two decades
Ittehad group has claimed that more than 100 trade organisation and a central leader Khawaja Sulemabn Sissiqui have supported them.
