Four member of a family were killed and another three received severe injuries when a van and a truck collided head on at Sarwar Shaheed
Chowk area in Muzaffargarh,Police told South Punjab News. Police said that ill-fated family was going to Layyah from Bahawalpur as they reached near Adda Hussain Shah, a speedy truck hit them.Consequently four persons including an infant baby and two women identified as Rehana and Madiha died.While three women Nadia ,Saadia ,and Maqsooda sustained severe injuries.They were immediately shifted to Layyah Hospital where their condition is stated to be serious. The truck driver managed to escape from the scene leaving his truck at site.
Getting information about the incident, rescue personnel arrived at the scene and shifted the victims to hospital for further procedure. The
officers said that the accident occurred due to over speed and avoiding
traffic rules. The truck driver succeeded to flee from the scene. The
police began the investigations into the accident.
