NAB Lahore arrests Ex-PM's Principal secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad

Fawad Hassan Fawad, one of the most senior bureaucrats of the country has been arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Ashiana Housing scheme case according to sources.
However, according to the NAB officials, Fawad has not been arrested since his questioning is still under way. A spokesperson of bureau has reported that the NAB chairman is yet to make a decision regarding the arrest of Fawad.
Having appeared thrice before NAB as a part of investigation of the Ashiana Housing scheme scandal, Fawad was summoned today for questioning by NAB regarding the scam.
The top civil servant has served as the principal secretary of the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Fawad was appointed as the director general of the Civil Services Academy in Lahore after being removed from the post of principal secretary of Prime Minister on June 1st, 2018.
Apart from the Ashiana Housing scheme scam, NAB is also probing Fawad for the illegal award of CNG contracts and the possession of assets beyond known sources of income.
However, according to NAB, former Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had granted the contract to Lahore Casa Developers that is a proxy group of the Paragon City (Pvt) Limited, owned by Former Minister of Railways, Saad Rafique.
Fawad on the other hand has blamed Chaudhary Latif and his sons for wrongfully awarding the contract to Casa Developers.
While the former chairman of Lahore Development Authority is on judicial remand after being arrested over the case, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has already appeared before NAB regarding the case.
